Nobody deserves—or longs for—a safe loving home more than a foster child. Today there are almost a million children in America’s family court and foster care systems. Children who have had to be removed from their families because of abuse abandonment or worse. Children who have lost their parents, their friends and often been separated from their brothers and sisters, because the system is horribly overstretched. Children who have had to change homes and schools six or seven times in just a few years, because they are shuffled between different temporary living situations.

This isn’t just sad it is a violation of these children’s most fundamental rights. Children have a right to be safe, and treated with respect and dignity. They have a right to a home where they can rebuild friendships and learn and grow.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) helps these children by recruiting and training volunteers to watch over and advocate for them. They make sure children don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. CASA volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of these children, fighting to make sure their voice is heard, and their rights are upheld.

Today we can only help 35% of the kids in the system. This leaves so many children to struggle through the most difficult time of their lives with no advocacy, and little hope of finding the loving embrace of a family or the comfort of a permanent home.

Our goal is to provide a volunteer advocate for every child in Bryan County who needs one. To do this, however, we need your support. You can help end the cycle of abuse and neglect for hundreds of children in Bryan County by supporting CASA’s efforts to recruit and train volunteers. Give a voice to child in need.
